I have been working at NWHS as the 10th and 11th grade guidance counselor since 2012. It is a pleasure to work with the people that I do and even more, the studnents that keep me on my toes! I love that in the guidance office I get to experience something different everyday; I would get too stir crazy if I had to go through the same motions day after day.
I decided very early on that I wanted to be a school counselor so once I graduated high school I made the big move to Kalamazoo, MI, where I attended WMU. I am VERY proud to be a Bronco Alum :) After finishing my Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Psychology I was accepted into the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Spring Arbor University and I would later graduate with my degree in School Cousneling. I hope to continue my education at some point in the future, but for now I am enjoying my career and all the people I get to come in contact with everyday!
Outside of school I love to spend my time with my husband, precious daughter, and our family dogs. I also enjoy physical fitness activities and spending time on the lake with family/friends; nothing beats a day in the sun! I really try to focus on being a positive person and helping others in any way I can. I always say that we can find the "little bit of great in the good, and the small bit of good in the bad."
Overall, I am happy to come to work everyday at NWHS! It is a GREAT PLACE TO BE!
WE ARE NORTHWEST! GO MOUNTIES!
